I’ve upgraded Office 2010 to 2013 and now I cannot start Outlook 2013. It hangs in the Loading Profile Screen forever.I tried to start outlook in the safe mode (outlook /safe) and it did work. According to help the safe mode does this: “Starts Outlook without the Reading Pane or toolbar customizations. Both native and managed Component Object Model (COM)add-ins are turned off.”So I tried “outlook /safe:1” which “Starts Outlook with the Reading Pane off”. This didnot work.Tried “outlook /safe:3” which would make “Both native and managed Component Object Model (COM) add-ins are turned off”.
Since installation, I find that MSOIDSVC error 0 Event Log errors are generated every few minutes all day. The description for Event ID 0 from source MSOIDSVC.EXE cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the.
This didnot work either. While in the safe mode I disabled all plugins and tried to start outlook normally. Didnot work. The only other piece that according to the help the safe mode does is that it starts outlook without toolbar customizations. I don’t think I had any toolbar customizations, butdoes anyone know how to disable tool customizations or reset them?I also noticed that I am getting this error message in the EventLog when outlook does not start (this message does not show up when outlook successfully starts in the safe mode):Source MSOIDSVC.EXE. Message: InitializeSvcAPI failed with hr = 0x80048883Searches on this gave nothing. Another bit of info: I also get this error message when I start Lync 2013, Word 2013 and Excel but all these apps work just fine.Any help/suggestions on how to troubleshoot this is greatly appreciated.Thanks. EDIT: K, so shortly after I posted this I found another link (which I can't find now) and it said something about putting the desktop theme in Basic Theme (instead of Areo) and that does the trick.
After that, went into the optionsand disable the hardware acceleration, re-enabled my Aero theme and it's all good.Sorry I don't have a solution CompaNova - I've been fighting this as well with Outlook 2013 on Windows 7 Pro 64bit. I've removed anything and everything Office related and tried numerous reinstalls.
Where Is Msoidsvc Exe Located
Nothing is working. The only way I can get it to openis use the 'outlook /safe'Curious if you've discovered anything else since your post on the 14th?Thanks-scottEDIT: should have mentioned - I've deleted all ost files, recreated profiles, removed encryption between client/server, tried cached mode on and off, disabled/ensured Windows Search service is running or off, tried every combo of startup switch, let it sitat 'Loading Profile' for 25 minutes, and I'm sure there's more. This pretty much sucks.
